White out!

Last night I wrote on the windscreen, this morning I couldn't find the windscreen! The snow has definitely hit East Yorkshire and this morning the scene that greeted us was gorgeous...

The Minifreerangers had to be forced to eat their breakfast as they were itching to get outside. Once amongst it there was no stopping them...

We've snowballed, sledged, rolled around and just got plain cold...now its hot chocolate time...mmm!

The other plus side to the snow...

This is the tidiest my veg patch has looked in months!

  1. You've had far more than we have - just a bit of a covering that is thawing fast - the garden is nearly clear other than the lawn which has tufts of grass poking through!

  3. Great pics! We haven't had much snow this winter, for a change. Hope it stays that way! I love your blog and "windscreen." I'm reading the newest book in the Inspector Lynley series by Elizabeth George with all the interesting things about the English countryside, etc.

McCormick's Montreal Seasoning is a spice with salt, red and black peppers, thyme, rosemary, fennel, garlic and paprika. It has a kick to it and is great on meat.

I'm happy to be your newest follower and will be looking around!

  4. Hi Sue - thankfully we've had no more today but it's still pretty deep. The roads are clear though much to the kids disappointment, they've been praying for a no school snow day!

Hi Willow lovely to hear from you - hope it's melting over your way, BH is driving there tomorrow - Garrowby hill in the snow gives me nightmares!

Hi Pam - thanks for following me, I really enjoy your blog and experimenting with new recipes - I'm looking forward to trying to recreate your seasoning, it sounds fabulous :)

  5. It has been so long since I have seen snow, I almost forgot what it looks like. Totally unheard of here in Canada. Enjoy!!

  6. What a treat for the little freerangers! I hope you all enjoy the white stuff, but that it doesn't outstay its welcome. Hope you had some marshmallows for the hot chocolate. :-D

  7. E, we've had to wait a while for it, but I couldn't believe how much had fallen overnight. My youngest two were up very early today, too, but I suspect they'll both be praying for the road to Driff to be blocked tomorrow!! Doesn't look likely though! x

  8. You have more snow than we do in Ontario, Canada, isn't that crazy. Stay warm!

  9. Funny how I got way more excited about snow when I was a kid. It is still pretty fun to play in , not to drive in.
Hot cocoa is the best part...yum!
