The oriental poppies I planted last year have started to burst open - and I mean burst! They are eye poppingly bright, completely jarring any attempt at a subtle colour scheme... and 100% fabulous! And there's loads more to come...
The best bit is their blue centres - multiple coloured bees have been spotted after visiting them so watch out!!!

I've noticed that the Poppies seem to be particularly bright this year... I think it may be all this damp weather and dull skies! Jx
ReplyDeletewhat a magnificent splash of beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteI love poppies. They are so 'in your face', definitely not a shy flower! And the good thing is that they seed very easily. I have guilty of nicking a few seeds pods on my way home recently - not from your garden I promise!
ReplyDeleteIf I was a bee, I'd be right in the middle of that flower too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning flower with such an intense blue on red.
ReplyDeleteI adore Oriental poppies and mine are just that colour too. Had phenomenal amount of flowers this year, but most rotted with the rain :(
