Now the holiday is nearly over Im catching my breath after the nonstop fun I want to ask the big question...
What did you do to celebrate?
We had a bunting festooned dinner..
I made a lot, and I mean a lot of cupcakes for street parties...The red and white ones were already in the car when I took this!
Oh and I got a bit tipsy at our village talent show and sang 'how much is that doggy in the window' backwards - no photos of that one thank goodness...there are some talents that are clearly best kept hidden!
Aw it sounds like you had a brilliant time! I got a wee bit sad watching all the celebrations on the tv, made me miss the uk!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you had a marvellous time; just as well you had cooked plenty, with that hungry lot calling in!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it isn't up on You Tube yet? ;)
Those cupcakes are gorgeous. I bet they looked fantastic when they were all plated up together. As a Music teacher I am very intrigued by the idea of singing a song backwards....! Jx
ReplyDeleteGlittery cakes! We watched all the coverage, waved flags in my mum's sitting room and enjoyed being together for four whole days :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura - I wouldn't feel too homesick it's raining here now and our bunting all came down today- but it was great while it lasted!
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, I know - those royals can certainly eat! There was nothing left for the corgis! As for YouTube I daren't look- ignorance is bliss is my motto on that one!
Hi Jan - I'm ashamed to say I learnt it when I was at school and it's stayed with me ever since - education eh! All I'll say is that my backing singer joined in with the occasional 'foow foow!'
Hi Dotty - how did we ever live without edible glitter! Your jubilee sounds lovely, wasn't it great having the extended bank holiday :)
Well, much as I enjoyed our street party and other festivities I'm now seriously upset that I missed hearing 'wodniw eht ni yggod taht si hcum woh'. I think I'll check out YouTube just in case it's there.
ReplyDeleteJealous! We need to have some sort of Jubilee-style celebration in Ireland with street parties and cake! I'm seriously considering inventing a holiday.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much excitement happening these days in England!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a classic English rib of beef for me with cakes to follow. Lovely to see so many people making such an effort!
ReplyDeleteI watched the festivities from the other side of the pond. It was a wonderful spectacle and I'm sure you had a great time at your street party. Wish we had that picture of you singing. Have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteHmm, should we be worried at how much BH looks like DoE? Sshh don't tell him - gin o'clock as Queenie would say!
ReplyDeleteI had to zoom in to see if I had forgotten my mask!
ReplyDeleteHi phil - don't you dare!!! Foow foow!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy - I think inventing a new holidays a great idea - what do you suggest?
Hi bellini - your so right - now the jubillees packed away we're getting ready for the Olympic torch - more reasons to be cheerful!
Hi CC - rib of beef sounds gorgeous - Yorkshire puddings too I hope!
Hi Mary - we did have a great time but I'm really quite pleased that no photos have surfaced - the paparazzi were kept at bay!
Hi city girl - isnt the similarity disturbing? It's like looking into the future!
ReplyDeleteBH what are you doing here? Get on with the building!!!
